FOR THE READERS

Twice a year, Behance holds a portfolio review event that is hosted by individual users from all over the world. I was contacted by the Behance team to host an event so I brought it to Art Center College of Design as a way to promote the Behance site which the school currently pays for and many of the students don’t know about it. I worked closely with Robbie Nock from Alumni Relations to develop this event over the course of a month back in July (2014).

In the end, I was given the position of the official Behance liason for the school to continue developing these events in the future (and I have not done anything with it to be honest). As a host, I wanted to make sure all the invited guests received a proper welcome so most of my time was spent on the editorial and graphic design
aspect of preparing guides for them. In doing so, I ended up drawing the entire school and site based on reference images.

As for the reviewers, I ended up contacting nearly 100 artists, designers, instructors from different creative pools to make sure there was a high caliber of talent involved. Surprisingly, many responded and have shown interest in future events. I took on this task as a way to further develop myself as a graphic designer as well as an event planner for two big organizations which I can now say I successfully accomplished.
